Preventative Health Care

Just as with humans we can do a number of things to help keep our pets healthy and happy for longer, and prevent them from getting seriously ill.

A wellness examination for your pet covers many of the things that you would have if you went to for an annual checkup with your family doctor:

An annual wellness exam and keeping your pet up to date with their vaccinations are important components of a healthy lifestyle.

One of the best things you can do to give your pet a long and healthy life is to ensure that he or she is vaccinated against common diseases. Your pet’s mother will have given them immunity for disease for the first few weeks of their life by providing disease-fighting antibodies in her milk.

After that period it’s up to you!

Our veterinarians can help you to determine which vaccinations are important for your pet to provide that protection.

Exercise is another key ingredient in the physical and mental health of your pet. One of the biggest benefits of exercise is that it helps maintain a healthy weight which reduces obesity-related diseases, such as diabetes, cruciate tears and heart disease.

Proper nutrition is as important for our pet as it is for us. The nutritional requirements for each life stage are different.
